So, you may not have heard, but award season is in full swing. Fashion month may be despairingly trying to steal its thunder, but as per usual, to no avail. Turns out, A-list celebrities trump street-style it-girls any day of the week and - save for a few grand exceptions bien sûr (I'm sure a lot of non-fashiony people would love to attend a Grand Palais Chanel show) - famous film directors invariably outweigh celebrated fashion designers. Welcome to the real world, where the Wintour-centric sartorial microcosm is nothing but a needle in the haystack! Not that this justifies the resounding absence of an expected, hopefully well-considered opinion or two, with accompanying edited runways shots et al, pertaining to the likes of what Alexander Wang, Derek Lam and Tibi had to say this time round. This is a fashion blog, after all - one would hope it doesn't only revolve around yours truly. What am I waiting for then, I ask you? I can only apologize and get my act together asap. Conjuring up commentaries as we speak. Ah, I digress.

Point is, I always enjoy seeing the exquisite couture gowns, first spotted on the runway, take to the red-carpet-clad street. Raf for Dior goodness on goddess Marion Cotillard, anyone? Vive la France (Amour is a true gem btw, do make sure you go see it, now)! And despite the oh-so-tiny it's almost negligible detail that I am: a) not a movie star, b) not a movie star's girlfriend c) not anyone at all really, that doesn't make it illegal for me to fantasize about attending. And choose my dress. And shoes. And immortalize the moment. Yes, I am that sad. Who cares, no one is watching. Oh, yeah I forgot. Well, since you are here, what do you think? I scrub up ok when I decide to actually dress like a girl? Yes? No? Whatever, this shall remain a cyber-happening, not to be mentioned in the real world. Promise?
